Alum Lew Kramer to Serve as Ernst & Young Executive-on-Campus

Lew Kramer, Baruch alumnus and newly retired senior partner and vice chairman of Ernst & Young LLP, is visiting Baruch campus this fall semester - during October and December - to counsel students on their career plans. Lew has a long and distinguished career in public accounting and has handled some of the Firm’s largest clients.  He was elected to the firm’s executive board and received the Firm’s Diamond Award for his support for the advancement of women in the Firm.

He loves working with students and has been active on campus as a guest lecturer, advisor to the department’s audit conferences served as an Ethics Bowl judge and speaker at important annual events such as the annual Baruch Financial Reporting Conference.

Lew has also offered to serve as a guest lecturer in classes, where he can connect real world practice to important principles of accountancy and discuss the audit process.  He has also generously agreed to serve as an advisor to new Baruch graduates hired by Ernst & Young.

Lew and his wife Judy have been generous donors to Baruch and classroom 12-140 in the Newman Vertical Campus is named after them.

Stan Ross Department of Accountancy held a welcome reception for Lew on October 14, 2009 with John Elliot, Dean of Zicklin School of Business, together with Prof. Masako Darrough, the Chair of the Department and a number of faculty members in attendance. To schedule an appointment or guest lecture with Lew, please contact E&Y Student Advisor Zel Sockovic via e-mail at Zeljko.sockovic@baruch.cuny.edu .  Zel will be coordinating Lew’s schedule on campus.
