Baruch College Master's of Financial Engineering Program Ranked #4 by Quant Network

The Master’s of Financial Engineering Program at Baruch College was ranked #4 in the 2013 QuantNet Ranking of Financial Engineering, Mathematical Finance M.S. Programs released on September 24. With an overall score of 98 (out of 100), the Baruch College was among six institutions who scored between 97 and 100 at the top of the ranking: Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, New York University, Princeton University, and University of California, Berkeley.

The Master’s of Financial Engineering Program atBaruch College was ranked #4 in the 2013 QuantNet Ranking of Financial Engineering, Mathematical Finance M.S. Programs released on September 24. With an overall score of 98 (out of 100), the Baruch College was among six institutions who scored between 97 and 100 at the top of the ranking: Carnegie Mellon University, Columbia University, New York University, Princeton University, and University of California, Berkeley.

The 2013 Quantnet ranking is the most comprehensive to date of master programs in Financial Engineering and Mathematical Finance in North America. QuantNetwork issues this ranking every other year, and Baruch College’s MFE Program moved up from #5 in 2011.

Professor Dan Stefanica, Co-Director of the Baruch College Financial Engineering Program, attributes the success of Baruch’s MFE Program to the recent achievements by its students:

Professor Stefanica also said the success of MFE graduates in the job market has been very strong over the past three years, with employers of Baruch alumni including Barclays Capital, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, ITG, Morgan Stanley and State Street.

Methodology for the 2013-2014 QuantNet Ranking of the MFE Programs: 25 master programs in Financial Engineering, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Finance were surveyed from August to September 2013 on admission, placement, and career services information. The overall score for each program was accumulated from points in each category: Employer Survey Score, Placement Success and Student Selectivity and multiplied by the category's assigned weighted average. The final scores were rounded to the nearest integer.
