Two Baruch Alumni Named "Influential Leaders" By Business School Accrediting Group AACSB
NEW YORK, NY -- September 24, 2015 --Two business school alumni of Baruch College are among 100 honorees in the inaugural group of Influential Leaders named today by the Association to Advance College Schools of Business (AACSB), the global accrediting body for business schools.
Francis J. Greenburger ’74 and Lawrence Zicklin ’57 both graduated from Baruch College before the Zicklin School of Business was named in 1998, in recognition of a generous endowment donated by Lawrence and Carol Zicklin. Zicklin formerly served as Managing Partner and Chairman of Neuberger Berman, an employee-owned investment management firm founded in 1939, and continues to serve on the company’s board. Greenburger is founder and CEO of Time Equities, Inc., a real estate investment, development and management business.
They join 98 other Influential Leaders who include former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, retired Army General Tommy Franks, specialty retailer Stew Leonard, Jr., the late Walmart founder Sam Walton, plus dozens of corporate executives, entrepreneurs and others from 20 industries in 21 countries.
“We are thrilled that our distinguished alumni, Larry Zicklin and Francis Greenberger have been recognized by AACSB as exceptional leaders,” said Dean Fenwick Huss, Willem Kooyker Dean, Zicklin School of Business. “They are influential leaders not simply by virtue of forging successful business careers but by what they have done with their success as valuable resources to the School and throughout the community."
“It is my honor to recognize Francis J. Greenburger and Lawrence Zicklin for their contributions as Influential Leaders, and to thank Baruch College and the Zicklin School of Business for their dedication to providing a business education environment based on engagement, innovation, and impact,” said Thomas R. Robinson, president and chief executive officer of AACSB International.
Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business is one of 740 business schools in 48 countries accredited by AACSB, which is entering its centennial year. AACSB accreditation involves a rigorous peer review process, and attests to excellence in strategic management and innovation; learning and teaching goals; academic and professional engagement; and active participation across the education process by students, faculty and staff.
