Zicklin School of Business Earns Accreditation by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business
The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College recently received notification that the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) formally ratified an extension for accreditation for the Zicklin School of Business and The Stan Ross Department of Accountancy.
AACSB accreditation is known worldwide as the longest standing, most recognized form of specialized/professional accreditation an institution and its business programs can earn. Only five percent of all business schools worldwide are AACSB accredited. The Zicklin School of Business is one of only 180 schools that have the distinction of having both business and accounting accreditation. This accreditation process confirms the Zicklin School’s membership in this elite group.
“We are honored to be a member of the elite group of schools that have the distinction of AACSB accreditation in both business and accounting,” said H. Fenwick Huss, Willem Kookyer Dean of the Zicklin School of Business. “It took countless hours and arduous effort on the part of our faculty and staff to ensure that our curriculum meets the standards and is continually enhanced and improved throughout our business programs.”
AACSB implements the initial accreditation process through a review of the institution’s self-evaluation report and through a visit to the institution by a Peer Review Team. Having achieved AACSB accreditation, Baruch College embarks on an on-going process of accreditation maintenance that includes providing an annual report and a periodic five-year review.
The AACSB states on its website that “The AACSB Accreditation Standards challenge post-secondary educators to pursue excellence and continuous improvement throughout their business programs.”
