Frequently asked questions about graduate admission to Zicklin School of business

FAQ overview

What is the cost of tuition and other fees?

Tuition and fees vary depending on the program and are subject to change without notice.  For a complete breakdown of costs, please see the tuition and fees page at http://zicklin.baruch.cuny.edu/admissions/grad/tuition.html.

I will study on an F-1 (student) visa. How many credits must I take?

Any international student studying on a student visa must study full-time.  Currently, full-time status at the Zicklin School of Business is 12 credits per term.

Should I have my foreign transcripts evaluated? Can you suggest an evaluation agency?

Zicklin’s Graduate Admissions requires that applicants from some nations provide transcript evaluations of their credentials.  To see the list of countries where foreign transcript evaluations are required, please click here.

Although Zicklin Admissions has experience evaluating most international transcripts, applications that include an official transcript evaluation from a pre-approved agency are processed and reviewed more quickly. When requesting an official evaluation, please be sure to use a NACES approved agency.

We strongly encourage that you use a pre-approved agency that we have a working relationship with:  World Educational Services (www.wes.org), International Education Research Foundation, Inc. (www.ierf.org) or Educational Credential Evaluators (www.ece.org).

Please note that Baruch uses the information from these agencies as guidelines only.  We have our own internal policy regarding transcripts from certain countries.

I have a B-Com degree from India. Can I apply?

Applicants from India with a three-year Indian bachelor's degree that has "First Class" on the diploma are eligible for admission consideration.

For all others equivalency may be gained by completion of the first part of the Indian master's degree, the first year of full-time Law School, or becoming a member of the Charter Accountancy. Another alternative would be to transfer into a U.S. or equivalent undergraduate program and complete the US bachelor's degree.

I studied in a non-US school and I can't get an official transcript from my school, or my school only issues one official transcript. What should I do?

If you are unable to get official, original documents directly from your school in a school-sealed envelope, you will have to have your documents evaluated by an agency that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).  You will find the list of members at www.naces.org

Be sure to request that the agency you choose does a course-by-course evaluation and that they send the completed evaluation directly to the Zicklin School of Business/Baruch College at the address shown on the application.

I received my undergraduate degree from Baruch. Do I still need to provide a transcript?

If you took any undergraduate or graduate courses at any of Baruch College's three schools it will NOT be necessary for you to request an official transcript from the registrar for these courses.

However, you will be responsible for providing official transcripts from ALL other institutions you attended, even if you previously submitted them to Baruch for undergraduate admission.

Do you offer student health insurance?

Primary health care is provided to all students free of charge (your student activity fee covers part of this cost).  The Health Center is located at 138 East 26th Street. They can provide you with referrals should you need special care for catastrophic or other serious illnesses.
