Frequently asked questions about graduate admission to Zicklin School of business

FAQ overview

What is the cost of tuition and other fees?

Tuition and fees vary depending on program and are subject to change without notice.

For a complete breakdown of costs please see the tuition and fees page.

I have a B-Com degree from India. Can I apply?

Applicants from India with a three-year Indian bachelor's degree that has "First Class" on the diploma are eligible for admission consideration. For all others equivalency may be gained by completion of the first part of the Indian master's degree, the first year of full-time Law School, or becoming a member of the Charter Accountancy. Another alternative would be to transfer into a U.S. or equivalent undergraduate program and complete the US bachelor's degree.

I am an international student and I can't get an official transcript from my country, or my school only issues one official transcript. What should I do?

If you have proof that you have contacted your University on two separate occasions, a month apart and have not yet received a response from them we will consider your copies of any transcripts. Please send all requests to either the School Registrar or the Ministry of Education by certified mail so that you have a receipt as proof of your attempts to receive original transcripts.

I received my undergraduate degree from Baruch. Do I still need to provide a transcript?

If you took any undergraduate or graduate courses at any of Baruch College's three schools it will not be necessary for you to request an official transcript from the registrar for these courses. However, you are still responsible for providing official transcripts from all other institutions you attended

Do you offer student health insurance?

Primary health care is covered by a small fee every semester (included in the student activity fee), and provided at the Health Center on campus. They can provide you with referrals should you need special care for catastrophic or other serious illnesses.  The Counseling Center is also available to Baruch students and their services are free.

In addition, all matriculted CUNY students registered for six or more credits are eligible to enroll for medical and hospital insurance coverage that offers a wide range of benefits. Health coverage is offered through Group Health Incorporated (GHI). Designed specifically for the needs of college students, this program consists of two programs that offer quality coverage at an affordable price.

  • Option 1 - Medical/Hospital Insurance
  • Option 2 - Medical/Hospital Insurance with Prescription Drug Coverage

Under both options you can select individual, family or domestic partner coverage.
More information about GHI and how to enroll for coverage will be mailed to you shortly after you begin your first term here. If you prefer you can contact the office of the Dean of Students.

Here are some alternatives for those students opting not to participate in GHI or Cobra Plans:

Is there housing on campus?

Baruch College does not provide housing for students at this time. Students interested in off-campus student housing can start their search by contacting Educational Housing Services (EHS), an independent student housing service. EHS operates several student residences in Manhattan and Brooklyn.  For more information call 1 (800) 297-4694 or visit their website at www.studenthousing.org

Another good source for housing information is Baruch’s HELPLINE, (646) 312-4750/4752. The Village Voice newspaper, available free of charge at the Student Activities Center (Vertical Campus 55 Lexington, 2-210) is also a good place to look for apartments for rent and for share in the area. If you are an international student, you can also check with the International Student Services Center located in room 880 on the 8th floor of the 151 East 25th Street building.  You may also reach the office by dialing (646) 312-2050.

Should I have my foreign transcripts evaluated? Can you suggest an evaluation agency?

Baruch's Zicklin School of Business staff has experience in evaluating most internatinal transcripts.  If you wish you may have your credentials evaluated by an independent evaluating agency such as:

Please understand that Baruch uses the information from these agencies as guidelines only.  We have our own internal policy regarding transcripts from certain countries.
