Graduate Program Information / Degrees Offered
What is the Full-Time MBA Program? What makes it different from the Part-Time MBA Flexible Format Program?
- Full-Time MBA ProgramThe Full-Time MBA Program is a highly selective and diverse full-time program which challenges you to reach your fullest potential both intellectually and professionally. The Full-Time MBA Program is an immersion experience, where every day is about succeeding both individually and as a team. For more information, visit the Full-Time MBA Program web page.
- The Part-Time MBA Flexible Format Program
Zicklin's highly ranked Part-Time MBA Flexible Format Program prepares students for professional careers in a competitive business environment. A diverse student population and faculty with broad academic and professional backgrounds provide a rich learning experience both within and outside the classroom. Students typically follow a prescribed sequence of courses and are together in cohort modules for their first four core courses. Each module consists of two "paired" courses that meet back-to-back twice a week. In this way, students have an efficient schedule and can get to know each other in two shared courses. The program offers flexible schedules for full- or part-time study each semester (unless visa status requires full-time enrollment). For more information about Zicklin's Part-Time MBA Flexible Format Program, visit the Part-Time MBA Program web page.
When are classes offered? Are there weekend classes?
The Part-Time MBA Flexible Format and MS Programs offer courses primarily in the evening. Courses for the Full-Time MBA Program are during the day for the first year, and both day and evening for the second year. The Part-Time MBA Accelerated Program requires study weeknights and on Saturdays.
Can I switch from part-time to full-time and vice versa in the Part-Time MBA Flexible Format Program?
Yes, you can switch between part-time study and full-time study in the Part-Time MBA Flexible Format Program depending upon your personal needs. However, international students studying on F-1 visas must maintain a full-time study schedule.
Can I switch into the Part-Time MBA Accelerated Format Program from the Part-Time MBA Flexible Format Program?
No. The Part-Time MBA Accelerated Format Program admits students for the fall only as it is a cohort program. Students work through the core together and follow a set schedule in order to complete the MBA in 28 months. We are not able to admit students mid-program, as those students would be off the sequence the rest of the cohort is following.
Can I switch from the Part-Time MBA Accelerated Format Program into the MS or Part-Time MBA Flexible Format Program?
Yes. Students are able to switch to the MS or Part-Time MBA Flexible Format Program if they need to alter their program or need more time to complete the degree requirements. Please follow the special instructions for changing either your degree or major choice.
Can I switch into the Full-Time MBA Program from the Part-Time MBA Flexible Format Program?
No. Some of the major requirements of the Full-Time MBA Program are offered at orientation and during the first term. Students entering this program after the first term would have missed too much of the cohort experience to transfer in at this point.
Can I take non-degree / non-matriculated courses?
No. Studying as a non-degree (non-matriculated) student is not an option. All students must be officially admitted in one of Zicklin’s programs in order to take classes.
How many graduate courses can I transfer?
MBA students can transfer up to twelve credits. No more than three–four credits (one course) may be applied towards the MBA major.
For MS students, up to eight credits (two courses) will be allowed.
• Courses for transfer credit must have been completed within five years of a student's enrollment at Baruch.
• Only graduate level courses completed in AACSB-International accredited graduate schools of business will be considered for transfer credit.
• Course credit cannot have been applied towards the completion of another degree.
