Sandra Roth
Ms. Roth has over 30 years of experience in the U.S. equity markets, with the last 15 devoted to managing pension assets, both public and private. Most recently, she was Chief Equity Officer and Senior Vice President of Benefit Capital Management Corporation, Danbury, Connecticut, with whom she was associated since 1994. She oversaw assets of $2.5 billion, including $200 million of private equity. Personally managed $1.3 billion primarily in large capitalization stocks. Ms. Roth was Member of the Strategy Committee that determined asset allocation and the duration of the fixed income portfolio and the Executive Committee that steered the Corporation and established policy. From 1988 to 1994 she was Senior Portfolio Manager and from 1984 to 1988, Senior Investment Analyst. She retired in 2001.
From 1971 to 1984 Ms. Roth was at Shearson/American Express, where she served as Director of Retail Research and as Institutional Equity Analyst. She began her career at The Bank of New York in 1967, followed by C.B. Richard, Ellis & Company in 1969.
Ms. Roth has served as an advisor on the Boards of several domestic and international venture capital funds, most notably Patricoff & Company, APEX Ventures, Ltd. and Advent International. She represented Benefit Capital on the Boards of several early stage investment companies including Genesis Health Ventures, Apache Medical, and Tegal Corporation.
Ms. Roth participates in charitable endeavors related to the Ackland Art Museum at the University of North Carolina, an annual merit scholarship award at the Naval ROTC unit at UNC, and various breast cancer initiatives. She also is a member of her co-op board of directors.
Ms. Roth received her BA in Economics from Brooklyn College in 1967, did graduate work at NYU, and received an MBA in Investments and Finance from Fordham University in 1983.
