Lawrence Chong

 

Mr. Chong is a seasoned senior executive with extensive experience in directing business enterprises and in helping entrepreneurs develop and launch new commercial businesses.   Presently, he consults with companies interested in enhancing enterprise value through strategic planning and top line growth.  He also serves on the board of directors of Radixx International, Inc (a systems solutions provider to the airline and travel industry), and is an advisor to Starfire Systems, Inc. (an advanced ceramics solutions provider) and Kognito, Inc. (a management training software provider).

In a prior position as Chief Financial Officer for the U.S. subsidiary of Schroders plc., a leading British merchant bank, Mr. Chong integrated the financial control and information technology systems of the bank to provide comprehensive management information and performance measurement systems. Additionally, he provided leadership and guidance in the formulation and implementation of growth and divestiture strategies, which substantially increased the value of the enterprise to the shareholders.

Previously, Mr. Chong directed the U.S. Institutional Trust business for The Industrial Bank of Japan (IBJ) which is now part of Mizuho, a major international bank, and transformed that business from a commodity trust services business into a rapidly growing specialty trust services business serving the needs of the corporate and institutional markets. He was able to materially increase the value of the business through the introduction of new products and services.  The business was subsequently sold at a substantial premium in a strategic divestiture.

Mr. Chong is active in non-profit organizations and currently serves as Co-Chairman of the Mental Health Association of New York City, Chairman of Link2Health Solutions and as a volunteer in Baruch College’s Executive on Campus Program.He is a CPA and a CFP and obtained his BBA in Accounting from City College (Baruch) and his MBA in Finance from Pace University.  He also completed the Executive Management Program of the Harvard Business School.
