Judith E. Katz
Judith Katz is an executive with a track record of leadership in strategic management, competitive positioning, financial improvement, and organizational effectiveness. She has held senior positions and consulting assignments in financial services and insurance, health care, retail, entertainment, proprietary education and non-profit organizations.
She has been an executive of American Express Company in positions ranging from head of corporate strategy and business development to divisional chief financial officer. At Provident Life and Accident she was Vice President Planning and at Barnes & Noble she was Vice President of Education and Information programs while she also directed a nationwide community relations program.
As a consultant for major multinational corporations, Ms. Katz has formulated responses to emerging business threats, designed new marketing and pricing strategies, focused businesses on their key competitive competencies and re-designed organizations to be customer responsive.
Working with non-profit organizations, she has designed new marketing and pricing programs, worked with a regional economic development agency pinpointing areas of opportunity for profitable investment and researched and wrote a handbook for small and minority businesses. She recently designed and taught a leadership development program for the New York City Department of Education.
She has been a featured speaker at the Conference Board, the Planning Executives Institute, the Harvard Club and the AICPA. Ms. Katz has taught strategic planning for the American Management Association and for Polytechnic University. She has been honored by the Academy of Women Achievers of the YWCA of New York City.
She received an S.M. in Management from the Sloan School at MIT, a Master of Arts in Teaching from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA from Brandeis University.
