Roy Weissman
Mr. Weissman has enjoyed a career in marketing, sales and financial roles in the newest segments of the media industry, cable television and the Internet/New Media As a pioneer in the interactive/internet marketplace for the past 12 years, Weissman has been actively involved in the development and creation of new online businesses and business models.
His career has ranged from the growth and development of the pay tv service Showtime to creating and executing distribution strategies for one of the earliest search engines, Infoseek.com.
At Infoseek, he managed the Marketing and Business Development mandates and created one of the earliest Internet affiliate programs to support the growth of website traffic for advertising sales. This included business deals with AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and Earthlink amongst others. He developed a direct marketing strategy that included co-branded books and exposure in a TV infomercial produced by Guthy-Renker.
Through an acquisition of an old line firm, Mr. Weissman created the first business to business e-commerce website for the sale of watches which he recently sold. Currently he develops online properties as well as provides Internet Strategy Consulting services to emerging companies to assist them to maximize opportunities in today’s digital marketplaces.
Mr. Weissman received his BS and MBA in Marketing from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.
