Theresa Schieber
Ms. Schieber is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Whelan Group, Inc., a leading consulting firm that provides fundraising management and capacity building services exclusively to the nonprofit and philanthropic sector. She is responsible for advancing the firm’s business and growth objectives, pursuing new business opportunities, and achieving profit goals. She has led the development of the firm’s social investment business and the design of a $10 million venture capital fund to invest in nonprofit organizations.
Ms. Schieber also serves as a strategic advisor to the firm’s nonprofit clients, consulting on fundraising strategy, business planning, strategic planning, organizational design, project management, and financial planning and analysis, and, she has managed a portfolio of capital fund raising projects totaling over $500 million.
Ms. Schieber's diverse professional background spans both the corporate and nonprofit sectors, and includes operating a multi-million dollar earned-income venture for a university, managing administrative operations for the New Orleans division of an international restaurant chain, and providing management consulting services to a broad array of nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and abroad.
Ms. Schieber received an MBA with honors from Loyola University and a BA in History from Tulane University. She serves on the Tulane Alumni Association National Board of Directors and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
