From the Chair
Welcome to the Stan Ross Department of Accountancy of the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. Accountancy is one of the most distinguished departments of the Zicklin School. We offer accounting courses that lead to a BBA in accounting, an MBA or MS in accounting or taxation, and a PhD in accounting. Accounting is the most popular undergraduate major at Baruch. Our programs meet with New York State requirements to sit for the Certified Public Accountant and the educational requirements of the Institute of Management Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Baruch College has excelled in the teaching of accounting since 1919. We have more accounting graduates and our graduates occupy more executive positions in U.S. corporations and public accounting firms than any other U.S. colleges or universities.
Our goal is to offer students a rich, multicultural learning experience with academic programs that will prepare them for a productive career and a lifetime of socially responsible citizenship in the global economy. We are very proud of our students, faculty, and staff. You will find at Baruch a student body that reflects the vibrant diversity of New York City and a faculty of internationally known scholars who are also dedicated teachers and mentors. Together—students, faculty and staff—we strive to create and maintain an academic environment that exemplifies excellence in teaching, scholarship, and ethical behavior.
