BBA in Accountancy

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

In completing the BBA accounting major requirements, any track, students may take a maximum of two 3000 level accounting courses each term (includes ACC 3202, 3000, 3100 and 3200.)  Exceptions are never made to this policy.

Internal Auditing courses may now be taken in any order: ACC 4360, Internal Audit I is no longer a prerequisite for ACC 4361, Internal Audit II.

BBA Accounting/CPA Track

  • Meets CPA requirements until August 1, 2009, but you must finish all coursework and apply to take the CPA exam before this deadline,
  • For students not planning to become CPA’s, provides excellent foundation for a broad range of opportunities in corporate, small business and non-profit accounting.

BBA Accounting/Internal Auditing (IA) Track


BBA/MS: The 5 Year Bachelor’s/Master’s CPA Programs

  • Combines BBA in accounting (CPA or Internal Auditing) with MS in accounting or taxation (MS admission required during the senior year),
  • Recommended path to meeting the 150 credit hour CPA requirements (mandatory if you apply to take the CPA exam after July 31, 2009),
  • Best preparation for the CPA exam and careers in public accounting,
  • Waives one year of the two year CPA work experience requirement,
  • Favorable admission requirements for the MS program,
  • Accounting BBA’s, CPA track, may choose the MS in accounting or taxation. (IA track graduates must do MS in accounting.)
  • Qualified students can take graduate courses while completing their BBA
