What kinds of opportunities are there for women in the CPA profession?

More and more women are becoming CPAs because accounting is a field with increasing interesting work, flexibility, a high level of respect and attractive career opportunities. As of the year 2000, 57% of new accounting graduates were women (source: CPA).  For more information on women in the profession, visit the AICPA web site and other organizations dedicated to women in the CPA profession, such as:

What kinds of opportunities are there for minorities in the CPA profession?
