Mission Statement
The mission of the Bert Wasserman Department of Economics and Finance is to provide students at Baruch College a learning environment that fosters excellence in the areas of finance and economics, two major sectors in New York City’s economy. Our mission is to educate students so that they can compete in the global economy. We achieve this with education at all levels: undergraduate (BBA in Finance as well as Economics, and BA in Economics), graduate (MBA), executive graduate programs (Executive M.S. in Finance and Executive M.B.A.). We maintain a close relationship with the financial business community by offering our students the opportunity to earn course credits in substantive internships at commercial & investment banks, and other non-finance businesses. To help our students, our world class faculty contributes to knowledge in the field through original research, as well as engages with the business and governmental communities.
