Topic:  Reassessing the business case for corporate social responsibility: A cognitive perspective.   Abstract:  Firms sometimes do bad things. Stakeholders can punish firms for doing bad things. Sometimes stakeholders punish firms, and sometimes they do not. Why this inconsistency? And what does this inconsistency mean for the business case for corporate social responsibility? Mike threads together several of his studies to develop a cognitive view of the business case and suggests future research directions that might better define when the business case does and does not adequately promote corporate social responsibility.
