Professional Coaching Program

Female Students in VC

Launched in 2004, the Professional Coaching Program [PCP] is an advanced-level certification course for people who have decided to make executive coaching an important part of their practice.  With the goal of adding professional coaching to their internal or external activities, program participants bring experience in counseling, consulting, human resources, organization development, business and other fields.

The PCP course has been awarded continuing coaching education approval from the International Coach Federation (ICF) in the following continuing education categories:

  • 35.00 hours   ICFCore  Competencies
  • 24.15 hours   Personal Development of the Coach
  • 1.4    hours   Development of Coaching Practice
  • 1.4    hours   Other Skills and Tools Directly Applicable to Coaching

The total of almost 62 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will give participants almost half of the 125 Student Contact hours (SCHs) they need towards ICF certification in the Portfolio Student Category as part of their overall certification towards the Professional Coaching Certification (PCC).   Students will still need to meet other criteria towards coach certification in the other coaching categories.  For more information about ICF certification, students should see the website of the ICF at www.coachfederation.com.

Testimonial:

“One of the best learning experiences I’ve had because it combined coaching theory and practice.  The opportunity to coach a real client added tremendous value to the learning.  This is the only coaching skills program out there that I’ve found to offer such a practice opportunity.” --Vice President, Human Resources, Financial Services Firm

“Not any easy course, so I recommend it only to the serious student.” --Psychologist in Private Practice
