What skills will graduates of the program possess?
Graduates from this program will be some of the most well-rounded and employable students because they have lived in a foreign country, know a foreign language, worked for an international firm, become an expert in a functional business area, and meet the requirements of a BBA degree.
More specifically, upon completion of the International Business program at Baruch, students will be well prepared to pursue a career
in an International Business related area because they possess:
- Comprehensive international business academic training achieved through a seven course major,
- Functional area knowledge in finance or marketing with a three-course minor,
- Global project management skills obtained by working with multicultural students on case studies and global projects.
- Foreign cultural experiences, a study abroad programs for credit (travel expenses will be subsidized), e.g., Jean Moulin University Lyon, France, Berlin School of Economics, Berlin, Germany, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, etc.
- Fluency in a second language (Chinese, Hebrew, French, Japanese, Italian, or Spanish are currently offered at Baruch) with at least three courses beyond the elementary level or demonstrated proficiency through testing.
- Breadth of business knowledge and the ability to “think outside the box” which is necessary to provide dynamic, innovative solutions to complex problems.
