I am trying to select a major and cannot decide which track or major to choose. Whom can I talk to?

For questions relating to International Business (IB) courses*, the IB major or the IB minor, and the International Marketing track, please see Professor Clifford Wymbs (Room 12-284 VC, clifford.wymbs@baruch.cuny.edu, tel: 646-312-3299). I’m a Weissman student and I want to do an “ad hoc” major. Which courses can I take from Marketing?

Weissman students can take up to 3 courses in Zicklin, of level 3000 or above, for an ad hoc major. You can choose from the following marketing courses: MKT 3000, MKT 3400, MKT 3520, MKT 3605, MKT 4555, MKT 4700. Note that if you take any course other than MKT 3400, you must also take MKT 3000 as a prerequisite. You need to first get approval for the Ad Hoc major from the Weissman Dean’s office, and then leave the paperwork for the Chair of the Marketing Department to sign.

What are the requirements for the Minor in Marketing?

Zicklin students who are not majoring in International Business may take any 3 courses with the MKT designation, other than MKT 3000, to receive the minor in Marketing. Zicklin students majoring in International Business must take MKT 3605, MKT 4420 and MKT 4700 to qualify for the minor in Marketing. Non-Zicklin students wishing to minor in Marketing must take MKT 3000 and any 2 of the following: MKT 3400, MKT 4511, MKT 4555, and MKT 4700 (4711).

What are the requirements for the Minor in International Business?

The IB minor is open only to students in Zicklin. For more information, see the web site: http://zicklin.baruch.cuny.edu/programs/undergrad/degrees/mktg.html/international-business-minor, or see Professor Clifford Wymbs (Room 12-284 VC, clifford.wymbs@baruch.cuny.edu, tel: 646-312-3299).

I want to take a second Minor in Marketing. What do I need to do?

The minor in Marketing is open only to students in Zicklin. The minor requires that you take any 3 MKT courses (other than MKT 3000). There is no form to be filled out, but in your final semester you have to tell the Degree Auditor in the Registrar’s office that you have a second minor in Marketing so that it appears on your transcript.
