"Navigating the Cross Currents of Today's Debt World For REITs" A Conversation with Joseph Macnow

JOSEPH MACNOW is executive vice president – finance and administration and chief financial officer of Vornado Realty Trust.

Mr. Macnow has been with Vornado for 28 years. Previously, Mr. Macnow was employed for five years as vice president, chief financial officer of City Stores Company. Prior to joining City Stores Company, Mr. Macnow was an audit manager with the international public accounting firm of Ernst & Young for eight years. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of New York. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Executives Institute.

Mr. Macnow is a long time friend of the Department of Real Estate at Baruch College. He provides guidance and generous support to many of the Department’s functions and activities. Through his efforts, several Baruch students have been able to secure internships at Vornado (one of the largest REITS in the United States). Mr. Macnow also participates in Baruch College’s Executives on Campus program and is a member of The Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute’s Advisory Board and Baruch’s 17 Lex Society. He is the recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2005. That year, the Bergen Museum of Art & Science named Mr. Macnow the Museum’s Person of the Year.

Mr. Macnow earned his BBA from the City College of New York, Baruch School of Public and Business Administration, majoring in accounting. He continued his education at Baruch and at the University of Southern California, completing all course work required for receiving the degree of Master of Business Administration.
