George Kruse, senior VP for development of the Sam Zell REIT Equity Residential, accompanied by the Director of Acquisitions of Toll Brothers, Alan Silver, spoke to Baruch’s real estate graduate students about their new development projects in New York. Both of them are developing the project jointly. George Kruse brings over three decades of real estate experieance to Equity Residential. Prior to joining the company, he served as Managing Director for Toll Brothers Realty Trust, where he ran the firm’s commercial development group. Previously, he served as Vice President, Real Estate for Fortress Investment Group, where he was responsible for development and asset management for several private equity portfolio companies including: Holiday Retirement; Brookdale Senior Living; Intrawest; among others. Kruse spent 10 years at Forest City Residential, where he served as Vice President, Development, and head of East Coast multi-family and mixed use development. Kruse holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance from New York University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York. He resides in New York City with his wife and son.
