Mission Statement
The Department of Real Estate, together with courses offered by the School of Public Affairs, forms the academic wing of the Newman Programs in Real Estate at Baruch College. The Department of Real Estate seeks to recruit talented and motivated students who are interested in understanding the economic and behavioral aspects of real estate markets. Our mission is to produce future leaders in real estate and related fields. To achieve this goal, the Department recruits faculty members with an established record of (or with a great potential to produce) top-notch research and the ability to interact effectively with industry leaders.
Our undergraduate programs will not only prepare students to enter one of the most exciting and fast growing career fields in New York, but will also ensure that students can acquire competent skills to succeed in related industries in the business world. Indeed, given real estate's pervasive impact on public and business sectors, the study of real estate helps students understand the important concepts and issues for making crucial business decisions and creating effective public policy.
