CREW Network 2011 / 2012 Scholarship Applications Now Available
CREW is now accepting applications for the 2011/2012 CREW Network Scholarships. CREW Network will award up to ten $10,000 scholarships to women interested in pursuing a career in commercial real estate. Each scholarship recipient will also be provided with a paid internship at a commercial brokerage firm.
Scholarship Value:
CREW Network will award up to ten $10,000 scholarships annually to junior or senior level undergraduate female students to cover the costs of tuition and books.
Eligibility Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a female enrolled as a full-time student at a college or university with an accredited real estate program. Applications will also be considered if the applicant is a female enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university that does not have an accredited real estate program, but where the applicant is enrolled in business, finance, architecture, engineering, or other related field of study where it is the applicant’s intent to pursue a career in commercial real estate.
- The applicant must be of junior or senior standing.
- The applicant must have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Foundation Scholarships
The ICSC Foundation, will be opening their ‘call for applications’ in early January 2011 for both undergraduate and graduate scholarships. International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Foundation Undergraduate Real Estate Award
This $1000 award, which will go toward tuition, will be awarded to a student meeting the following criteria:
- An undergraduate in high academic standing
- With a declared major in real estate and
- Demonstrating extra-curricular activities of service to the Department and/or College.
ICSC will provide one year free ICSC membership to the selected student.

Joseph Moinian Real Estate Award
Is awarded to one or two graduating seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence in the course of studying real estate at Baruch College.

The Cohen Family Graduate Real Estate Scholarship
General Information and Instructions
The Cohen Family Real Estate scholarship is available beginning in Fall 2011 to incoming graduate students enrolled in the Master of Science real estate degree program at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College.
The Cohen scholarship will award up to $5,000 to eligible graduate students. The number of awards and the guidelines for selection are determined each year by the Chair of the Department of Real Estate. The Department reserves the right not to give the award if the Department fails to find suitable candidates.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The scholarship applicant must be accepted to the Baruch College Department of Real Estate Masters of Science in Real Estate program to be eligible for scholarship consideration. In addition, the scholarship applicant must have an undergraduate overall grade point average of at least a 3.5 and 600 or better on the GMAT, and must be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours per semester for the first two semesters in the program. Applicants must also submit a written essay (not to exceed 500 words) that concisely explains why he or she wants to follow a career in real estate, what he or she hopes to accomplish in the field, and why this scholarship is important to them.
The scholarship will be paid in two equal installments. The first installment will be paid in the first semester. The second payment will be paid at the beginning of the second semester. The second payment will be contingent on the student to maintain an average GPA of 3.6 or above. The Scholarship Committee for the Department of Real Estate will administer the selection process.
IMPORTANT:
Awards cannot be placed on hold for students who postpone admission or fail to enroll by the registration deadline specified in the award letter, or who choose to skip a fall or spring term for which they have a scholarship. Under any of these conditions, the Department can reduce or revoke the award.
Durst Scholarship
This annual scholarship will be allocated to an undergraduate real estate major who agrees to focus upon sustainable real estate in either the real estate development or investment tracks within the Department of Real Estate.
Applicants must have at least a 3.2 GPA and provide a short (no more than 1 page essay) explaining how they propose to examine the links between real estate and green or sustainable business practices.
The Department of Real Estate will select the candidate.
Wittlin Scholarship
To honor Joanne Wittlin’s memory, a scholarship has been established in her name by her friends and family. The scholarship will be used to bring talented young people into the real estate industry through financial support to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Real Estate/Zicklin’s real estate programs.
Criteria:
- A junior or senior year undergraduate or an MBA or MS student in good standing enrolled at Zicklin/Baruch College,
- Majoring in Real Estate
- With a minimum GPA of 3.2
Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association of New York, Inc. Scholarships
YMWREA is pleased to offer students currently enrolled in Baruch’s real estate program the following scholarship opportunity:
A $1000 scholarship, which will go toward tuition, will be awarded to a student meeting the following criteria:
- An undergraduate or graduate student in high academic standing (minimum 3.5 GPA)
- With a declared major in real estate and
- Demonstrates charitable or community service involvement.

Mortgage Bankers Association of New York Scholarship
This scholarship provides partial tuition and textbook funding assistance to students who are studying in the Real Estate programs and intend to pursue a career in real estate.
Selection criteria:
- Applicants must be a junior or senior in the BBA real estate program or MBA or MS real estate program students
- Applicants must intend to pursue real estate careers
- Applicants must write a statement demonstrating their commitment to commercial real estate
- Applicants must maintain 3.2 GPA.
Candidates shall be selected by the Department of Real Estate/Zicklin School of Business.
Association of Real Estate Women (AREW) Charitable Fund Scholarship
This scholarship provides support to undergraduate or graduate students specializing in real estate who expect to pursue a career in real estate. The scholarship is to be applied to tuition costs and fees. Recipient will be invited to attend AREW functions. The scholarship may be split between two students.
Selection criteria:
- Enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student, specializing in real estate.
- Demonstrated financial need.
- Graduated from a New York City public high school.
- Expects to pursue a career in real estate.
- Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.2 GPA.

WX (Women Executives in Real Estate) Scholarships
WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate is an invitation-only association of senior-level women actively engaged in the commercial real estate industry in New York. WX's diverse membership includes owners, developers, architects, engineers, bankers, and lawyers.
