Jobs and Internships

Student Professional Development and Job Fairs

Margo Weaker, Director of Real Estate Student Services, acts as the point person between the real estate academic programs at Baruch College and private and government sectors in real estate, with the dual goal of promoting student internships and jobs and maximizing industry and public support for Baruch’s real estate programs.

Ms. Weaker's outreach to various real estate companies has resulted in numerous internship and job opportunities that were posted on e-Recruiting (graduate and undergraduate sites); as well as several students being placed at these companies. The following are some of the companies with whom Margo has established on-going working relationships and who have posted internships and/or job opportunities for Baruch College students: Blackrock, Cushman & Wakefield, CB Richard Ellis, Studley, New Plan Excel, Vornado Realty Trust, Sterling Equities, Newmark, Ernst & Young, and ING Clarion. From January 1, 2006 - January 26, 2007, 395 real estate related jobs have been posted on e-Recruiting (on the undergraduate Career Center's web site). Students should check e-Recruiting (Graduate eRecruiting; Undergraduate eRecruiting) for currently posted job/internship opportunities.

Ms. Weaker also advises students with regard to the academic programs in real estate.

The Real Estate Department is fortunate to have David Shulman, retired Lehman Brothers' Managing Director and Head REIT Analyst. Using his well established connections, Mr. Shulman has spearheaded our drive in opening doors for our students at Wall Street firms and REITS. Working in tandem with Mr. Shulman, Ms. Weaker is capitalizing on the relationships established with these companies.
