Executive MS in Industrial and Organizational Psychology
An effective human resource manager knows that when an organization’s design, culture, and people are aligned with its strategic vision, the dynamics for success are set in motion. Baruch's one-year Executive Masters of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology is designed to provide talented HR leaders with the tools they develop effective systems for the management of human capital and understand the underlying psychological aspect of the management of human capital.
This program is designed for individuals who are interested in:
• Psychological perspectives on human capital management
• Organizational psychology
• Organizational consulting
• Functional roles with considerable human resource responsibilities
This program is focused on a mix of operational, developmental, and strategic aspects of the management of human capital.
Graduates will be trained to assume vital human resource management roles in business, consulting, and government organizations, as well as position themselves as candidates for doctoral graduate programs. Opportunities for graduates exist in all areas of business, government, and not-for-profit organizations.
Students work closely with peers and faculty in a rich professional environment and form meaningful life-long friendships and business relationships.
The curriculum is composed of 5 foundational and 5 advanced courses covering such diverse areas as staffing, job analysis and competency modeling, employee motivation, management of work teams, organizational research, employee surveying, executive coaching, and organizational change and development.
