The Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute was established in 1995 at Baruch College with an endowment gift from William and Anita Newman in memory of their son, who, along with his father, worked in the field of real estate. Its mission is to directly serve the real estate industry’s education and research needs.

Bridging commercial, academic, nonprofit, and government sectors, the Institute is guided by an Advisory Board whose broad membership includes nationally recognized industry leaders. The board is co-chaired by Mr. Newman and Richard Pergolis.
