- Newman Institute Seminars
- Industry-Government Seminars are smaller, more informal versions of the conferences organized by the Institute's New York Real Estate Forum. Designed to facilitate greater exchange on the part of participants and audience, seminars take on more experimental real estate issues that will eventually emerge as important New York real estate concerns.
- The City Roundtable
- The City Roundtable is devoted to consideration of real estate issues as they currently affect public policy in metropolitan New York. Over the past five years a cycle was completed in which each of the five boroughs was analyzed and discussed, followed by a consideration of the impact of Jersey City.
- The Development Conference
- The conference presents a daylong examination of a major issue facing both the private and public sector leadership of metropolitan New York's real estate planning communities. The conference facilitates major presentations on development options and focuses on financing, business impact, and public-policy consequences of the various development options presented.
- The Finance Conference
- The Real Estate Forum focuses on a prominent real estate finance issue affecting Metropolitan New York's real estate industry and the government communities.

- Meeting the Challenges of Global Residential Marketing
- Louise Sunshine, chairman of Sundezio, Inc. and president of LMS Consulting LLC, will speak about “Meeting the Challenges of Global Residential Marketing.”
- Real Estate Prices and Financial Markets
- Yale economist and best-selling author Robert Shiller will be speaking about his new real estate hedge fund. Among the commentators are Dr. Ethan Harris, chief economist at Lehman Brothers, Professor Christopher Mayer, director of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate at Columbia University, and Professor Susan Smith from the Centre for the Study of Cities and Regions at Durham University in England.

- The Open House is an opportunity for potential students to learn about the full range of the Newman Real Estate Programs offered at Baruch College directly from faculty members. Students can learn about the Newman Institute Certificate Program which includes courses required to obtain or maintain New York State real estate licenses for brokers, salespersons, appraisers and home inspectors.
- The CUNY Urban Consortium
- The CUNY Urban Consortium was sponsored by The Newman Real Estate Institute. It brought together the resources of the City University of New York’s various schools and departments that focused on urban issues. For the first time, members of these departments met at regular intervals to exchange information about planning and design issues that affected the future of the city and of the metropolitan region.
- Newman Institute Award for Visionary Leadership in Real Estate
- The First Newman Institute Award for Visionary Leadership in Real Estate was presented to Charles J. Urstadt on October 27, 2005 at the University Club in Manhattan in recognition of the contribution made by the Battery Park City Authority to New York City life over the last 40 years. Sponsored by William Newman and the Advisory Board of the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute, the award recognizes the public/private partnership that turned 100 acres in the Hudson River into six million square feet of commercial, residential, hotel and recreational uses, including the World Financial Center, as well as a landscaped waterfront esplanade that ends in a public park at the tip of the city.

- Affordable Housing in New York City
- The Office of the Public Advocate for the City of New York and the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute presented a half-day meeting on October 21, 2005 to introduce some of the new solutions put forth in the report on Affordable Housing in New York City. The program included debates on the concept of affordability and the responsibility of housing provision; civic leaders discussed past and existing programs in New York City; and contributors to the report spoke about the thinking behind the components of the report. There was a keynote address from the New York City Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum at the end of the day.
- Residential Brokers Masters Series
- Residential Brokers Masters Series offered in conjunction with the Real Estate Board of New York and Preferred Empire Mortgage Company. Open to preregistered students from all Newman Real Estate Programs.
