Affordable Housing in New York City

The Office of the Public Advocate for the City of New York and the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute presented a half-day meeting on October 21, 2005 to introduce some of the new solutions put forth in the report on Affordable Housing in New York City. The program included debates on the concept of affordability and the responsibility of housing provision; civic leaders discussed past and existing programs in New York City; and contributors to the report spoke about the thinking behind the components of the report. There was a keynote address from the New York City Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum at the end of the day.
