Jack S. Nyman, Director of the Newman Real Estate Institute, has been elected Vice Chair of the Executive Board of the U.S. Green Building Council - New York. One of the most dynamic chapters in the nation, it has enjoyed tremendous recent growth. Among its many initiatives are projects that help further New York City’s implementation of the long-term sustainability goals established in plaNYC 2030.
Among USGBC-NY board committees that Nyman serves on are the Executive Committee, Budget & Finance, Development, Education, and Governance. Read more
Richard Pergolis Sustainable Classroom Dedicated at Baruch College
On February 26, 2009, Baruch College dedicated its first green classroom. Named the Richard Pergolis Sustainable Classroom for Real Estate Education, for the alumnus who underwrote its design and construction, it’s located in Baruch's Steven L. Newman Hall on East 22nd Street in Manhattan. (Read more.)
