Application Process

Do you have on-line application?

Yes. To complete the application form online please visit http://www.gc.cuny.edu/admin_offices/admissions/.

We no longer accept mailed applications, all applications must be submitted online.

What does the completed application consist of?

The completed application packet consists of:

    • the completed application
    • the official GMAT score from Educational Testing Services (college code XWT-S7-47)
    • the official TOEFL score from Educational Testing Services (college code 2113),
    • transcripts of all college work (including courses that were not taken towards a degree),
    • two academic letters of recommendation
    • the non-refundable $125 application fee
    • the International Student's Packet (International Students only)

 

What is the deadline for application?

For application deadline please see application deadline chart. We do not admit students in the spring semester.

Can the application fee be waived?

We are sorry, but the application fee cannot be waived. Your application will not be processed without it.

How do I apply for financial aid?

All students in the Ph.D. Program in Business are automatically considered for financial aid. 

An application for Financial Assistance can be downloaded from Office of Financial Aid, The Graduate Center at http://www.gc.cuny.edu/admin_offices/finaid/index.htm.

How likely am I to get financial aid?

All students in the Ph.D. Program in Business who need financial assistance receive it.

What are my chances of acceptance into the Ph.D. Program in Business?

The program accepts approximately fifteen to twenty students a year. Please visit the Admission Statistics page for the statistical data.

Where should I send my test scores?

All test scores should be sent to The Graduate Center, college code XWT-S7-47, and not to Baruch College.

What if I accidentally sent my test scores to Baruch College?

If you accidentally sent your GMAT score to Baruch College, it must be resent by Educational Testing Services. Baruch does not save the official GMAT scores.

Do you offer student housing?

The Graduate Center Apartments, opening in the fall of 2011, offers students and faculty one of Manhattan's most sought after resources--bright, comfortable, airy and affordable modern housing. The eight-story residence hall, located in Manhattan's East Harlem neighborhood on 118th street between Lexington and Third Avenues, shares the plaza of CUNY's new East Harlem Campus with the University's School of Social Work and Public Health. Can I apply for the program in the spring semester?

The program only accepts students for the Fall semester.

Where do I send my writing sample?

Your writing sample should be sent to the Office of Admissions, The Graduate Center. It can be e-mailed to admissions@gc.cuny.edu.

What does the writing sample entail?

The writing sample should be a sample of your academic work. It can be a paper from a previous course.
