The 5 Yr Programs
Bachelor's/Master's CPA Programs in Accounting
For Baruch Students Seeking to Meet the NY State 150 Credit CPA Requirements
Any Baruch undergraduate student planning a career as a Certified Public Accountant should consider one of these Bachelors/Masters programs. Anyone who applies to take the New York State CPA exam after August 1, 2009 will be required to have completed at least 150 credits of college coursework. Students graduating before May/June 2009 who complete one of the Bachelor's/Master's options enjoy the benefits of having met the new CPA requirements, in addition to the other program advantages mentioned below.
Possible Degree Combinations
Depending on the undergraduate major, students pursue one of the following degree combinations:
- BBA, Accounting-CPA Track/MS in Taxation or MS in Accounting
- BBA, Accounting-Internal Audit Track/MS in Accounting
- BBA in a major other than Accounting/MS in Accounting
- BA or BS, any major/MS in Accounting
These are not combined degree programs, but a special scheduling of Baruch undergraduate and graduate programs to meet NY State CPA academic requirements. Students who meet the eligibility requirements graduate with their bachelor's degree then enroll in the MS.
[Interested students please note: The "List of Interested Students" which had been maintained to provide ongoing information about these programs is no longer in use. Emails and other communications with students is now directed at all enrolled undergraduates.]
