GCMC Mission Statement

Executive MS in Accounting imageThe Graduate Career Management Center is dedicated to providing Zicklin students with the tools and resources necessary to successfully manage their career goals and potential employers with qualified candidates to successfully meet their recruiting needs. We partner with students, employers, and the Baruch community in the professional development of our students and the development of employer relationships. Our goals are to:

  • Educate, train, and advise Zicklin graduate students in the career management activities and attitudes necessary to market themselves effectively in the MBA and MS job market.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with potential employers for the purposes of strengthening the connection between students and employers and maximizing students' employment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with School and College faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni to advance the goals of the Zicklin School's graduate programs.

We expect each MBA and MS student to be the primary stakeholder and lead the effort in his/her own career management process. We teach students to be proactive in the job search process while providing them with concrete information, impartial and realistic advisement, and job and networking leads.

For employers, we provide personalized, flexible and professional service with the goal of assisting them in connecting with Zicklin graduate students. We work closely with employer contacts to define the most appropriate and effective means to get to know and recruit our students, and provide them with options to best meet their needs.

For the Baruch community, we are an active partner in the development and advancement of the Zicklin School's strategic goals. We represent the career interests of Zicklin graduate students in relation to School- and College-wide external relations efforts and serve as a resource for faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni in relation to the professional development, career management efforts, and employment goals of our students.
