On-Campus Recruiting

The Graduate Career Management Center offers On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) opportunities during the fall and spring semesters. The OCR Program is designed for employers who recruit the upcoming year's graduates for full-time positions and continuing students for summer internships. All students participating in the program must complete the mandatory Recruiting 101 workshop prior to applying for OCR opportunities.  Students are eligible for OCR for full-time positions during their graduating year and may participate for one academic year only.

What is On-Campus Recruiting (OCR)?

  • The OCR Program is designed for the upcoming year's graduates and provides opportunities for students to interview with employers directly both on and off-campus.
  • It is used by employers who specifically project hiring needs in advance.
  • The OCR Program is offered in both the fall and spring semesters.

Who is eligible?

  • You are a current student in the MBA, MS, or PhD program at the Zicklin School of Business.
  • You have attended the mandatory Recruiting 101 Workshop.
  • You have submitted a signed On-Campus Recruiting Student Agreement form.
  • For Full-time Opportunities:
    • June Graduates are eligible in the Fall and Spring semesters prior to graduation (e.g. June 2007 grads are eligible in the Fall of 2006 and Spring of 2007)
    • January Graduates are eligible in the Fall semester prior to graduation and Spring semester after graduation (e.g. January 2007 grads are eligible in the Fall of 2006 and Spring of 2007)
  • For Summer Internship Opportunities:
    • You have a graduation date of the upcoming month of August or later.
  • You are no longer eligible for OCR internships once you have accepted an internship offer, and you are no longer eligible for OCR full-time positions once you have accepted a full-time offer.

What is the requirement to participate?

  • All participants MUST attend the mandatory Recruiting 101 workshop. Please check eRecruiting to see the list of workshop dates and time

PLEASE NOTE:

OCR begins in early Fall and Spring semesters. You MUST attend one of these workshops by September 8th, 2006 in order to have full access to all companies on campus.

On-Campus Recruiting Procedures

The On-Campus Recruiting Program (OCR) is active during both the Fall and Spring semesters. This program offers students an opportunity to interview directly with employers both on and off campus.

Policies

By signing the On-Campus Recruiting Student Agreement form, you authorize the Graduate Career Management Center to forward your resume and related information to employers participating in the recruitment programs offered by the office. All resumes are subject to approval by the Graduate Career Management Center, which reserves the right to withdraw resumes from the applicant pool if they do not meet the Graduate Career Management Center standards.

In order to participate in the On-Campus Recruiting Program at Baruch College, you must:

  • ensure the integrity of the eRecruiting system by entering information accurately and truthfully
  • apply only for positions for which you are eligible
  • check your application history in the eRecruiting system for employer decisions, changes, and cancellations on a regular basis.
  • check the eRecruiting system frequently for new jobs, as they are added regularly.
  • apply for jobs for which you intend to interview. Once you apply for a job opportunity, you must be committed to the interview if selected.
  • when granted an interview, select an interview time slot on the employers' schedule within 24 hours.
  • pay special attention to the time and date of your interviews and where they are being held.
  • understand that if you fail to show for an interview, you will no longer be allowed to participate in the OCR program. Employers will be notified by the Graduate Career Management Center and subsequent interviews cancelled. You must also write a letter of apology to the employer and submit a copy to the Graduate Career Management Center.
  • keep the Graduate Career Management Center informed of any changes in your employment status, contact information, and participation in the program.
  • notify the Graduate Career Management Center within 24 hours of accepting an employment offer. You are no longer eligible for OCR once you have accepted a job offer.
  • understand that you are eligible to participate in the OCR Program for Internships only if your graduation date is the upcoming month of August or later and are eligible to participate in the OCR Program for full-time positions for one academic year only.
