On-Campus Recruiting

The Graduate Career Management Center offers On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) opportunities during the fall and spring semesters. The OCR Program is designed for employers who recruit the upcoming year's graduates for full-time positions and continuing students for summer internships.

What is OCR?

  • The OCR Program is designed for the upcoming year's graduates and for students seeking summer internships and provides students with the opportunity to interview with employers directly both on and off-campus.

  • The OCR Program is offered in both the fall and spring semesters.

Who is eligible to participate?

  • Current students in the MBA, MS, or PhD program at the Zicklin School of Business.

  •  For Full-Time Opportunities:

  • June and August Graduates are eligible in the Fall and Spring semesters prior to graduation (e.g. June 2010 grads are eligible in the Fall of 2009 and Spring of 2010).  

  • January Graduates are eligible in the Fall semester prior to graduation and Spring semester after graduation (e.g. January 2010 grads are eligible in the Fall of 2009 and Spring of 2010)  

  • Participation in the OCR program for full-time positions is permitted for one academic year only.

  • For Internship Opportunities: Current students with a graduation date of August 2010 or later are eligible.

  • You are no longer eligible for OCR for internships once you have accepted an internship offer and no longer eligible for OCR for FT positions once you have accepted a FT offer.

Requirements for Fall 2009 OCR

Employers will begin to post full-time and summer 2010 internship positions in Zicklin CareerLink as early as August 2009. To participate in OCR  the three requirements below must be completed by  Friday, September 11, 2009.

  1. Resume Review You must have your resume reviewed by a member of the GCMC Career Advisement Team. *Exceptions: Your resume is currently active in the 2009/2010 Employer Resume Book or you have had your resume critiqued by the GCMC since January 1, 2009.

  1. CMC Recruiting 101 Workshop *Exceptions: You have already completed CMC Recruiting 101.
  1. Mock Interview OR CMC Interviewing Strategies Workshop You may either attend a CMC Interviewing Strategies workshop OR schedule a Mock Interview with the GCMC. *Exceptions: You already completed a CMC Interviewing Strategies and/or mock interview since January 1, 2009.
  • Register for all CMC workshops through Zicklin CareerLink.
  • Schedule Mock Interview and Advising appointments by calling the Center at 646-312-1330. Walk-in Advising takes place Monday-Thursday from 4:00-5:00pm. If you are working full-time and are unable to come to campus for Walk-in’s, telephone appointments can be arranged.

OCR Policies

By signing the On-Campus Recruiting Student Agreement, you authorize the Graduate Career Management Center to forward your resume and related information to employers participating in the recruitment programs offered by the office. All resumes are subject to approval by the Graduate Career Management Center, which reserves the right to withdraw resumes from the applicant pool if they do not meet the Graduate Career Management Center standards.

In order to participate in the On-Campus Recruiting Program at Baruch College, you must:

  • Ensure the integrity of the Zicklin CareerLink system by entering information accurately and truthfully
  • Apply only for positions for which you are eligible
  • Check your application history in the Zicklin CareerLink system for employer decisions, changes, and cancellations on a regular basis
  • Check Zicklin CareerLink frequently for new jobs, as they are added regularly
  • Apply for jobs for which you intend to interview. Once you apply for a job opportunity, you must be committed to the interview if selected
  • When granted an interview, select an interview time slot on the employers' schedule within 24 hours
  • Pay special attention to the time and date of your interviews and where they are being held
  • Understand that if you fail to show for an interview, you will no longer be allowed to participate in the OCR program. Employers will be notified by the Graduate Career Management Center and subsequent interviews cancelled. You must also write a letter of apology to the employer and submit a copy to the Graduate Career Management Center
  • Keep the Graduate Career Management Center informed of any changes in your employment status, contact information, and participation in the program
  • Notify the Graduate Career Management Center within 24 hours of accepting an employment offer. You are no longer eligible for OCR once you have accepted a job/internship offer
  • Understand that you are eligible to participate in the OCR Program for Internships only if your graduation date is the upcoming month of August or later and are eligible to participate in the OCR Program for full-time positions for one academic year only.
