Review Process - General Information

 

A JBBM mandate is fostering an Editorial atmosphere that respects the authors' and reviewers' dignity. The review process is viewed as "anonymous group study". The goal is to search for various ways to improve the quality of the manuscript.

Reviewers will provide comments and critiques in a timely, confidential, constructive and relatively unbiased manner. An author whose manuscript is invited for resubmission is expected to reply to most if not all reviewers concerns in a similar manner.

All manuscripts submitted to the JBBM are reviewed using a double-blind peer review process. Three reviewers are typically used for appraising each submission.

Upon submission the corresponding author will get an email confirmation that the manuscript will be been sent out for review or, a desk rejection. This part of the process can take up to two weeks.

Corresponding author’s email address must reflect the name of the institution they are affiliated with as it appears in the manuscript at the time of submission.

Subsequently, the corresponding author is informed about the reviewed status of their submission in approximately ten weeks (slightly longer when this time frame includes a semester intersession).

The JBBM does not accept new submissions or process resubmissions during the months of July and January.

The Editor has the final authority to accept or reject any manuscript.
