Organizations around the world face increasing competition, technological disruption, and external shocks, and require managers at all levels of the organization to think strategically.
This certificate would provide an opportunity for potential managers to:
- Develop competitive analysis and critical thinking skills
- Identify and assess strategic alternatives at the business-level, corporate-level, and industry-level
- Improve the way they intelligently communicate their analyses and recommendations to other stakeholders
- Position themselves to pursue a career path in strategic management, equity analysis, or strategic consulting.
The curriculum for the certificate program in Strategic Thinking is a subset of courses currently offered to the MBA program and open to other Master’s programs, thus potentially allowing students the option to subsequently apply to and enroll in these master’s level programs.
CURRICULUM
Students must take and satisfactorily complete MGT 9600 plus two additional graduate-level MGT courses on Strategy listed below. The Advanced Certificate in Strategic Thinking is awarded to students upon completion of these courses with a minimum grade point average of 2.7. Requirements must be completed within three calendar years of enrollment in the Certificate program.

* Completed Certificate courses carry graduate-level credits that may later be transferred to any of the Zicklin Masters Level programs when applicable and appropriate. These programs require students maintain a minimum average GPA of 3.0.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants to the Certificate program must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (or the equivalent degree in a foreign country). GMAT/ GRE is not required for entry into the certificate program.
Students interested in continuing their education and obtaining a Master’s-level degree at Zicklin will have to apply to and be admitted into these programs separately.
