Employment Outcomes
Each year, the Graduate Career Management Center (GCMC) collects outcomes data for graduating classes. The reports below reflect the employment status of those who graduated with an MBA or MS degree from the Zicklin School of Business.
Success Stories
The GCMC works with students and alumni from a variety of backgrounds with unique needs, be it moving up in their current positions, making a career switch, or just getting started in their careers. Below you will find a few of our student and alumni success stories.
Alexandra Villamar, MS ‘16
Continuous career guidance. “Having built an excellent relationship with the GCMC team, I have continued to seek guidance for my career development, like requesting and providing performance feedback at work. I value my career counselors’ advice and hard work and the resources available to me as an alumni and realize that this isn’t a one-time resume shop but a continuous growth development organization.”
Dean Gavindane, MBA ’23
Unlocking hidden potential. “Unsurprisingly, The GCMC assisted me in building my resume, coaching me for job interviews, and helping me create a strategic plan to navigate a variety of MBA conferences. Of course, that is a common practice of any academic institution’s career services, but the GCMC differs in that they go beyond coaching; they empower me. As a result, I left every meeting with a level of confidence equal to that of a comic book hero. So it was no surprise that I received an offer from a top fortune 500 company. “When confidence aids competence, there is no door that won’t open.” GCMC is the place to go to unlock your hidden potential.”
Jun Lee, MS '21
Navigating job search as international student. “As an international student, I have never experienced professional networking events before and wasn’t sure how to prepare for the campus recruiting process. The GCMC career advisors were able to help me in many areas including resume reviews, mock interviews, and one-on-one advising. Some graduate students are hesitant to speak with a GCMC advisor because they’re worried about being judged about their skills or background. From my personal experience, it is never the case.”
Luisa Diez, MBA '20
Self-assessment and boosting confidence. “As graduate students we usually take interviews for granted because we have gone through the process before and are confident enough about our previous professional experience. Yet, there is always room for improvement in doing introspective work to boost your self-confidence, that will result in more successful interviews. A good job-hunting process is not an easy task, it requires help and that help is called the GCMC, the best free partner you can find!”
Raymond Adda, MBA '22
Making invaluable connections. “The GCMC has been a great resource for my career development since I started my MBA program. Coming into the MBA program as a career switcher, GCMC provided me the professional guidance I needed to make a successful career change. These ranged from providing me information about the recruitment process in my area of specialization, working with me to enhance my resume and LinkedIn profile, to having mock interviews. GCMC has also connected me with recent graduates and professionals, and such connections have proven to be invaluable.”
Saloni Patel, MS '23
First-semester success. “Attending various events on campus that the firms hosted and speaking with the staff and recruiters. This helped me prepare for the “why us” question for the interviews as I was able to learn more about the firms from the inside, helping me personalize my responses. I utilized GCMC resources and scheduled mock interviews with career coaches that provided feedback on the spot alongside helping modify my answers.”
