About
Baruch College is one of the nation’s top-performing public institutions and serves as an engine of access and opportunity for one of the most diverse student populations in the United States. Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business ranks consistently as a national leader in providing academic excellence while empowering students to succeed in their careers. The Baruch Business Academy provides a transparent, predictable, smooth path for students to transition from partner CUNY Community Colleges to Baruch and Zicklin. The Academy is open to newly enrolled Community College students in Business Administration Associate degree programs. Academy students who complete the Business Administration Associate degree, and meet additional predetermined academic criteria (see below), are guaranteed admission to Baruch College and the Zicklin School of Business.
The Baruch Business Academy fosters pathways into the business sector for students who reflect the diversity of New York City. While serving the broader CUNY community of students, the Academy can particularly strengthen the advancement opportunities of our Black and Latinx student population by cultivating the conditions for them to thrive and contribute to diverse professional industries. The Academy supports students through mentorship and advisement while developing a social network that nurtures their academic and professional development on their path to and through the Zicklin School of Business. The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College serves as a solid foundation for academic excellence and student success, and the Academy helps students achieve their career aspirations by bridging education, community, and impact.

Academic Requirements
For seamless admission to Baruch’s Zicklin School of Business, students in the Baruch Business Academy must satisfy the following academic criteria:
- Completion of the Business Administration Associate degree program with a minimum overall GPA of 2.5
- Average GPA of 2.3 or better in all business courses
- Meet eligibility requirements for admission to the Zicklin School of Business:
- Completion of COM 2020 Introduction to Business Communication, ENG 2150 Writing II, and Pre-calculus (or Calculus or placement into Calculus)
- Completion of 7 pre-business courses with a minimum 2.25 GPA
Student Eligibility
Students are eligible to join the Baruch Business Academy if:
- You are enrolled in a specific Business Administration program at a CUNY Community College that has partnered with Baruch College
- You have earned no more than 24 cumulative college credits, exclusive of Advanced Placement or College Now credits
- Additionally, students who fall in the above 2 categories and self-identify as Black and/or Latinx are highly encouraged to apply
The Baruch Business Academy is open to all eligible students regardless of race, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, or other characteristics.
