The following groups of students admitted into Zicklin are required to have the courses listed completed, to enroll in business courses that are 4000 level or above and have admission into Zicklin as a prerequisite. The list of courses will differ depending on when a student entered/re-entered Baruch College.
NOTE: This requirement does not apply to:
- Students who were admitted into Zicklin prior to Fall 2021.
- Students who entered/re-entered Baruch prior to Fall 2021 without a break of attendance thereafter.
Entered/Re-entered Baruch in Fall 2021
The following students are required to complete the list of courses below:
- First semester at Baruch was Fall 2021
- Re-entered Baruch in Fall 2021 AND admitted to Zicklin in Fall 2021 or later.
- ACC 2101 – Principles of Accounting
- CIS 2200 – Introduction to Information Systems and Technologies
- COM 2020 – Introduction to Business Communication
- (or COM 1010 for students who entered/re-entered Baruch between Fall 2021 and Spring 2024 with credit for COM 1010)
- ECO 1001 – Microeconomics
- ECO 1002 – Macroeconomics
- ENG 2100 – Writing I
- ENG 2150 – Writing II
- LAW 1101 – Fundamentals of Business Law
- QNT 2020* – Foundations of Predictive Analytics and Decision Modeling
- (or Calculus for students who entered/re-entered Baruch between Fall 2021 and Spring 2024 with credit for Calculus)
- (SQM majors must take Calculus, see note)
- STA 2000 – Business Statistics I
* STA 4155 and OPR 3450 overlap with QNT 2020. STA 4155 and OPR 3450 are required courses for SQM majors. Hence, students majoring in Statistics and Quantitative Modeling (SQM) are waived from the requirement to complete QNT 2020 upon successful completion of OPR 3450 or STA 4155. SQM majors are required to complete one of the calculus courses (MTH 2205/MTH 2207/MTH 2610)
Entered/Re-entered Baruch between Spring 2022 and Spring 2024
The following students are required to complete the list of courses below:
- First semester at Baruch was between Spring 2022 and Spring 2024.
- Re-entered Baruch between Spring 2022 and Spring 2024 AND admitted to Zicklin in Spring 2022 or later.

- BUS 2000 – Business Fundamentals: The Contemporary Business Landscape
- (or BUS 1011 for students who entered/re-entered Baruch between Fall 2021 and Spring 2024 with credit for BUS 1011)
