Zicklin Undergraduate Programs

Minors

Zicklin School of Business majors are required to complete a minor in liberal arts. Officially admitted business majors may also choose to complete an optional second minor in business. All students are limited to two minors. The only exception is for International Business majors who are required to have a liberal arts minor and functional minor. IB students may have an optional 3rd minor.

Liberal Arts Minors

The liberal arts minor consists of three* courses of study (9–12 credits) outside of students’ majors. Of the three courses, two must be taken at the 3000-level or higher. The third course in is to be the 4000, 5000, or 6000-level capstone course created or designated by each department in the concentration. Capstone courses are research oriented and communication intensive. The capstone course can be taken only after students have completed two courses in their disciplinary concentration at the 3000- level or higher, and it must be taken at Baruch College. The liberal arts minor cannot be within the same area of study as the major. This is also true for students who are required to complete part of the minor for the College Option. There is no GPA stipulation attached to the College Option courses, but in order to graduate with the liberal arts minor on the final transcript, a student must have a grade point average of at least 2.00 in the three courses that make up his or her liberal arts minor.

*The full three course (9-12 credits) minor is required of entering freshmen. Transfer students should refer to their own DegreeWorks and College Options requirement.
