1) How do I declare a major or a concentration for my Evening MBA General Program?
For the Evening MBA General Program, there is no formal policy on declaring concentrations or majors. Instead, the Evening MBA Program includes electives which are self-selected. The conferred MBA degree will state MBA General for all graduates.

2) How do I select Electives?
Student may select elective courses from one (1) discipline or from a variety of disciplines within the Zicklin School. The choice of electives is your decision.

Elective courses should be selected based on students’ academic interest and/or professional skills required for the job, function or industry of interest. Electives are to be selected from any 9000-level course offered by academic departments in the Zicklin School of Business (ACC, BUS, CIS, ECO, ENT, FIN, IBS, LAW, MGT, MKT, OPM, OPR, STA, RES, and TAX).

3) Where do I find a list of Electives?
A comprehensive list is available via the following link:

ZICKLIN ELECTIVE COURSES

Be sure to check CUNYfirst/Schedule Builder for course availability.

4) Are all Electives offered in the Winter and Summer Sessions?
No. Kindly check CUNYfirst/Schedule Builder for course availability.

5) Who do I contact to take a course outside of the Zicklin School?
To fulfill elective requirements, students are allowed to take ONE graduate 3-credit course outside of Zicklin at either the Weissman School or the Marxe School. (Both schools are a part of Baruch College). See below for the contact information for seeking course approval, if CUNYfirst does not allow for self-enrollment. Please note that the Weissman and Marxe Schools give priority to their own students, if approval is needed for course enrollment.

Marxe School: mspia.advisement@baruch.cuny.edu

6) Where can I find a list of Faculty Advisors?
Faculty Advisors are a great source of reference for insight into course content and curriculum. The following link displays a comprehensive list of Faculty Advisors listed per discipline:

FACULTY ADVISORS

7) How long is the MBA General Program?
Students have six (6) years to complete the MBA. For academic purposes, nine (9) credits equate to a full-time status. Students on F1 visas are required to take full-time classes. Subsequently, students who are not on F1 visas can choose whether to be full-time or part-time in a given semester, and ultimately determine their own graduation timeline.

8) Do I have to take 6 credits every semester?
Students on F1 visas are required to take 9 credits each Fall and Spring Semester. Students who are not on F1 visas can take as few as 1.5 credits or more than 9 credits in a given semester. The Summer and Winter Sessions are optional for everyone. For academic purposes, 9 credits equate to a full-time status. Therefore, students who are not on F1 visas can choose to be full-time in a given semester and part-time in another.
