There is no formal policy on declaring concentrations or majors. Instead, the Evening MBA Program includes electives which are self-selected. The conferred MBA degree will state MBA General for all graduates.
2) How do I select Electives?
Student may select elective courses from one (1) discipline or from a variety of disciplines within the Zicklin School. The choice of electives is your decision.
Elective courses should be selected based on students’ academic interest and/or professional skills required for the job, function or industry of interest. Electives are to be selected from any 9000-level course offered by academic departments in the Zicklin School of Business (ACC, BUS, CIS, ECO, ENT, FIN, IBS, LAW, MGT, MKT, OPM, OPR, STA, RES, and TAX).

To fulfill elective requirements, students are allowed to take ONE graduate 3-credit course outside of Zicklin at either the Weissman School or the Marxe School (both schools are a part of Baruch College).
If CUNYfirst doesn’t allow self-enrollment, contact the appropriate office for course approval. Please note, the Weissman and Marxe Schools prioritize their own students when granting enrollment approval.

Students have six (6) years to complete the MBA.
For academic purposes, nine (9) credits equate to a full-time status.
- Students on F-1 visas are required to take full-time classes.
- Students who are not on F-1 visas can choose whether to be full-time or part-time in a given semester and ultimately determine their own graduation timeline.
8) Do I have to take 6 credits every semester?
- Students on F-1 visas are required to take 9 credits each Fall and Spring Semester.
- Students who are not on F-1 visas can take as few as 1.5 credits or more than 9 credits in a given semester.
- The Summer and Winter Sessions are optional for everyone.
- For academic purposes, 9 credits equate to a full-time status. Therefore, students who are not on F-1 visas can choose to be full-time in a given semester and part-time in another.
