IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Note that, in order to navigate through the MS Finance program smoothly, all prerequisite courses must be completed first.
  • International students need to be registered for 9 credits in fall and spring to be considered full-time; Part-time students typically take 6 credits per semester.
  • Preliminary courses are offered every fall and spring (with the exception of ECO 9740, which is sometimes offered in fall only).
  • Required courses (ECO 9723 Econometrics, FIN 9781 Intermediate Corporate Finance, and FIN 9783 Investment Analysis) are offered every fall and spring.
    • These courses serve as prerequisites for many of the advanced electives.
  • Students should plan to complete BUS 9551 Business Communication I within their first two semesters.
    • BUS 9551 is offered every fall, spring, and summer.
  • Elective Courses are typically offered once per year (either in fall, spring, or summer).
  • Only the department can grant permission to students to register for a course(s) without having the prerequisite.
