Important Notes:

  • Iin order to navigate through the MS Financial Risk Management program smoothly, all prerequisite courses must be completed first.

 

  • International students need to be registered for 9 credits in Fall and Spring to be considered full-time.

 

  • Part-time students typically take 6 credits per semester.

 

  • Preliminary courses are offered every Fall and Spring (with the exception of ECO 9740, which is sometimes offered in Fall only).

 

  • Required courses (ECO 9723: Econometrics and FIN 9783: Investment Analysis) are offered every Fall and Spring.
    • These courses serve as prerequisites for many of the advanced electives.

 

  • Students should plan to complete BUS 9551: Business Communication I within their first two semesters.
    • BUS 9551 is offered every Fall, Spring, and Summer.

 

  • Elective Courses are typically offered once per year (either in Fall, Spring, or Summer).

 

  • Only the department can grant permission to students to register for a course(s) without having the prerequisite.
