First Semester Course Selection
- Students should complete MKT 9703 Data-Driven Marketing Management in their first semester.
- Many Marketing (MKT) courses can be taken with MKT 9703 as a corequisite.
- The required marketing core courses (MKT 9703: Data-Driven Marketing Management, MKT 9702: Marketing Research, MKT 9716: Consumer Behavior, and MKT 9759: Marketing Consulting Practicum) are the same for all marketing concentrations and are generally offered every Fall/Spring semester.
- MKT 9702: Market Research requires both STA 9708 and MKT 9703 as prerequisites.
- Students who are required to complete STA 9708 should prioritize taking it within the first two semesters.
- Students can take elective courses in the first semester.
Preliminary Course & Waiver Criteria (3 credits)
MS students will receive an email from the advising team with more specific information related to your program requirements. New students should note that evaluations will be sent to the same email address that you used to apply to your degree program.
Based on their academic background, admitted students may be required to take a preliminary course.

Waiver Criteria for Preliminary Statistics Course
STA 9708: is waived based on completion of 6 credits of undergraduate statistics coursework. Student must meet both the minimal grade average of B- and time limit of 5 years.
If required, STA 9708 does not apply towards the 30 credits required for your degree.
