SUMMARY:Corporate Security Unveiled: Navigating Global Business and Risk Management
DESCRIPTION:About the Program\nJoin us as Jeremy Hurewitz breaks down how the corporate security industry works\, how it influences both global business and foreign policy\, and how it is changing. Events in China have recently restricted the corporate security industry and Jeremy will speak to that\, and also be prepared to answer questions on China\, which he writes about frequently. Jeremy will explain how businesses often take shortcuts when it comes to background checks\, how that can be shortsighted\, and what best practices are. Jeremy will share thoughts and answer questions on how to best utilize this important but misunderstood industry to best manage risk for any business. \nJeremy will also share what the Sell Like a Spy program is all about and provide a few tips on how to better connect with people in both your personal and professional lives by sharing examples of how spies recruit their agents. He will share details about his upcoming book and more broadly what it will cover. \nAbout the Speaker:\n\n\nJeremy Hurewitz started his career overseas as a freelance journalist for nearly a decade based out of Prague and Shanghai. During that time he also built and ran the international newspaper association Project Syndicate. After returning to his native New York\, Jeremy joined the shadowy world of corporate security. An influential but little-known industry\, Jeremy worked widely across a range of services including kidnap-for-ransom\, background investigations\, political risk advice\, executive protection\, and many other sensitive assignments. Jeremy is now the founder of both Challenger Hill Consulting as well as the program Sell Like a Spy\, which helps salespeople and executives to bring spy tradecraft into their salesmanship and communications. He writes regularly on foreign policy for a wide range of publications and is a policy advisor on National Security for the Joseph Rainey Center.
