The Role of Insurers in Delivering a Greener Future
April 29, 2021 at 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm EDT
About the Program
Insurance is fundamentally a form of risk management whereby decisions are made based on possible future events and their likely impacts. The better an insurance company can predict and avoid future risk, the more successful the company. It is with this eye toward the future that French insurance titan AXA developed its latest Foresight Report, 2040: Exploring Society’s Future Challenges. The report identifies climate change as one of the three main challenges facing society and details how the insurance industry is uniquely positioned to influence behaviors that impact the climate for the better. By looking at the big picture, AXA aims not only for more success, but also to contribute solutions to the interconnected challenges of tomorrow.
Join Baruch College’s Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity and Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs on April 29th as we host a panel of strategic foresight specialists and climate experts for a deeper dive into the report and a wide-ranging discussion of risk in the age of climate change.
