About the Program
This daylong conference will serve as a forum for interaction between academia, practice, and policymakers in the area of Blockchain law. The program will feature a keynote address by David Yermack, Albert Fingerhut Professor of Finance and Business Transformation at New York University Stern School of Business. It will also feature a fireside chat with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Hester Pierce. Closing remarks will held by Nikhilesh De, Managing Editor for World Coverage and Regulation at CoinDesk. Mr. De will address the future of crypto and the perspective of the media.
The event is free to attend but registration is limited. Academics, students, and attorneys are encouraged to attend.

This event is the result of an academic collaboration with The Institute for the Law and Regulation of Digitalisation, newly founded in 2018, bundles and strengthens the competences of the Department of Law of the Philipps University of Marburg in a cross-cutting legal matter that results from the effects of the process of digitization on the existing legal systems.
Currently, the research activity focuses on economic, corporate, banking and capital market law at German, European and international level, as well as data protection and communication law. The institute is committed to intensive cooperation with legal practice and genuine interdisciplinarity.
