Since 1997, Peter has been a Lecturer in Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining at Baruch College, City University of New York, and serves as the Academic Co- Director of the Baruch College Executive Master of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations Program. From 1999 until 2006, Peter served as an agent for the National Labor Relations Board. Prior to this, he was a representative for the New York State Public Employees Federation and was an administrator for the trustees of U.A. Plumber’s Local Number 2.

In June 2008, after completing two terms as the National President of the Workmen’s Circle/Arbeter Ring, Peter served as the President of the Workmen’s Circle MultiCare Center until its sale in 2014, when he again became Workmen’s Circle President. He has served on the Board of the Forward Association, which is the publisher of the Forward newspapers, and several other not-for-profit organizations.

Peter holds a Master of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations degree from Cornell University/Baruch College, City University of New York, where he graduated with honors. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College, City University of New York.

Peter and his wife Marci, a New York City teacher and a former local elected union official, live in Brooklyn, New York. Their son Sam works in television sports production in New York City.
