Rajeev J. Sawant, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of International Business at Baruch College. He has extensive experience in emerging markets having served as the Aide-de-Camp to the President of India and worked with state government officials in India’s remote Northeastern state of Tripura, which borders Bangladesh and Burma, helping to improve infrastructure services. His research is regularly presented at the peer-reviewed Academy of Management and the Financial Management Association’s annual meetings and is published in the Journal of International Business Studies and the Journal of Structured Finance. He is the author of the book, Infrastructure Investing: Managing Risks and Rewards for Pensions, Insurance Companies and Endowments published by Wiley Books in 2010.

Sawant graduated summa cum laude from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India and received a Master’s and Ph.D. from The Fletcher School. He is the recipient of the prestigious Inlaks Foundation scholarship.
