Sooin Yun joined us as an Assistant Professor of Statistics in the Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business. She received a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before that, she obtained both MSc and BSc in Statistics, both at Ewha Womans University, South Korea. Her research aims to develop statistical methodologies to compare spatial and spatiotemporal data characteristics that have applications in fields such as climatology, public health, bioinformatics, and environmental studies. In addition to spatial statistics, she is also conducting research on multiple testing, modeling spatial extremes, and functional data analysis.
